moving/packing company recommendations
I'm looking for a moving company that will also pack the smaller items in my condo, like clothes, books, and kitchen stuff. Recommendations and reviews are welcome. I have some mobility issues, so need help packing and lifting. It's a short-distance move, from condo to near-by storage unit. Have not used a moving company in many years, and want good people who are helpful and won't over-charge me.

Need meticulous home-cleaning ITP?
So what's so special about my cleaning? An attention to detail. Behind toilets, windowsills, baseboards, you name it. And I don't charge an extra fee for careful cleaning. Discrete, prompt and meticulous is the name of my game. I am available Monday-Friday, 9AM-6PM, and occasionally on weekends. My rates are very simple, $60 for two hours and $20 every additional hour. I have my own supplies and transportation, but if you require a more "green" method of cleaning, I can accommodate. I also do not mind cleaning around animals, children or otherwise. Tell me what you want and I will try to fulfill the request, though I am great at self-direction and consideration to your needs. I don't mind putting things away, I scrub, not wipe and won't leave you wondering what I cleaned, if anything. I am not like the other maids who clean. You will KNOW your home is cleaned, not just tidied. I am located in Decatur, so I am looking for clients around that area, but am willing to consider anything inside the perimeter. Feel free to PM me or respond here for my contact information. Questions always welcome. References upon request. Thanks for checking me out!

what happened with 106.7?
On Sunday, I was listing to this beloved oldies station. :)

On Monday, it's a 24/7 news.talk.weather station. :( What happened? Links to any info would be great. Did some searching, but all I have found so far is links to oldies stations in cities other than Atlanta.

ETA: thanks for the links, folks!

As for the comm, the mods need to go into Manage Communities and re-set the posting settings to Unmoderated (that way, the comm won't be bugged by LJ's idea of whitewashed links).

If spotted or found call or text 404-934-8061 or email mariasot@gatech.edu to discuss a REWARD!

Cat adoption

My old cat died a couple of weeks ago, and now I'm ready to adopt again. Any suggestions on good no kill shelters?

I'd heard good things about Paws Atlanta, but their website looks like they don't have cats anymore. There's no email contact info, and the phone just goes to an endless round of voice mail speeches.

Places to renew vows?
Can you recommend a place around ATL/North Georgia that would be a special/pretty place for a small vow renewal ceremony?

We were thinking on top of a building in ATL or somewhere that has a beautiful view of mountains in northern GA (however, some of the Northern GA vineyards offer less than stellar views despite rave reviews on their website).

We are looking for recommendations for places where people have been! (It doesn't need to be an official "ceremony venue," or anything as it will only be us-- so think state park, etc. Were up for anything!

Would anybody here be interested in a bunch of pink things? My room has been decorated in pink for years and I think it's time for something new... I've got a pink shag rug, two sheer pink curtains, one light proof window panel, two pink table lamps, two pink/ tan/ blue rope curtain panel things (curtains made of string?), a beech color desk with pink and purple accents (this is cheap and has seen better days), a pink closet hanger/ clothes organizer thing, a full size light pink and brown comforter, and a little pink Christmas tree.

I'd really rather not throw these away and thought they might be good for somebody else, especially a kid. If you want to throw some money my way for this stuff, great, but I'm more interested in giving it a new home... I'm moving by the ninth and would prefer not to move this stuff...

I am going to a concert at the Tabernacle soon and have a few questions I couldn't find on their site, so I'm hoping you can help me out! Thanks in advance!!

I want to go early to get in line so I can be one of the first people in to grab some merch and head straight to the rails - how many hours before door time should I try to do this? The show is sold out, so I know there will be tons of people, however, the show is on a weekday and I took the day off so I have an advantage.

Anyone had any trouble with cameras? I've seen lots of pics on their official site from fans, so I don't think the band has any problems, but I don't want to take my real camera and have them tell me no way. I also don't like leaving anything valuable in my car, visible or not, so not too keen on taking it if it's unlikely I can go in with it.

Any recommendations on a lunch spot nearby? The only thing I really remember off the top of my head is Ted's Montana Grill and I've heard mixed reviews.

And finally, if you've gone to a show there by a known band, have you had any success meeting the band before or after the show? Any tips on this? I'd love to just briefly tell them how much I love their music and maybe grab some pictures.

Thanks again and have a great one!
